Russia warns of consequences of new Ukrainian plane

The Russian government warned on Wednesday that it would be forced to take “retaliation” if Ukraine used the air bases of NATO countries to take off F-16 fighter jets which were transferred to it by certain members of the Alliance.

This was warned by Konstantin Gavrilov, head of the Russian delegation to the negotiations on military security and arms control of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), held in Vienna, as reported the TASS news agency.

“Comments were heard that, given the significant conditions for the destruction of Ukrainian air structures, F-16 fighters transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine can fly from air bases in Poland, Romania and Slovakia,” Gavrilov explained .

If this is the case, Gavrilov indicated that Russia would consider combat aircraft coming from NATO territory to participate in the conflict and would therefore be obliged to take “retaliatory measures.”
