As part of this experiment, Japanese researchers asked 300 women ages 20 to 39 to divide themselves into two groups. While the first had to do nail care at home, other participants left their hands to professionals for several weeks. Conclusion ? An improvement in mood, an increase in energy, self-confidence and motivation was noted among members of the second group. “Our research proves that nail care in a salon can have a positive effect on a person’s psychological state,” Atsushi Kawakubo, the author of the study, explains to the scientific journal “Psypost”.
Beyond the aesthetic dimension, the researchers noticed that the topics discussed with others in the room during the meeting had a direct impact on the mood of the participants.

Is a manicure better than a shrink session?
